There was something fishy about the Friends of Belfast Cathedral’s autumn pilgrimage – which took them to Portaferry and the Exploris Aquarium!

The large group travelled by coach from Belfast to the scenic town at the end of the Ards Peninsula where they were greeted in the Exploris Café with tea and coffee and scones.

The Friends then took a walk around the aquarium where they saw fish, seals, otters and even a crocodile!

Following the tour, the coach boarded the Strangford Ferry for the short trip across Strangford Lough and a drive to Killyleagh for a tour of St John the Evangelist Parish Church.

As the church hall is being refurbished they were served high tea by the folk from Killyleagh Parish in the nearby Presbyterian Church Hall.

Afterwards it was back into St John’s for a service of Evening Prayer conducted by the Rev Ronnie Lawrenson before the bus took the group home to Belfast.
