The Rev Denise Acheson, a former Dean’s Vicar at Belfast Cathedral, was introduced as part time Priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Holy Trinity & St Silas with Immanuel, Ardoyne, on Sunday May 6.
The service was led by Rural Dean, the Rev Tracey McRoberts, in Holy Trinity Church on Sunday May 6. Mr William Humphrey MLA read the Lesson.
A former rector of St Colman’s, Dunmurry, Denise became Dean’s Vicar at Belfast Cathedral in 2013. She resigned her position in the Cathedral in 2016, having taken a period of extended leave for family reasons, but returned to the clergy team on a temporary basis to help out between the departure of Dean John Mann and the installation of Dean Stephen Forde.
Denise was also a member of the clergy team at Lisburn Cathedral for a year, a temporary role which ended last August.
We wish Denise all the best in her new parish in north Belfast.
