As Dean of Belfast let me welcome you to the Belfast Cathedral website. We hope that as you discover here the many aspects of daily life in this special place, you will also decide to come and visit our beautiful Cathedral. Pass through our doors to worship with us or to visit as a tourist; to meet others at a special service of celebration or commemoration; or to step inside to find peace or join in prayer as a pilgrim, a friend, or a neighbour.
Dean Stephen Forde
We invite you to come and visit the Cathedral in person. It is undoubtedly one of Belfast’s greatest and most magnificent buildings in terms of size, architecture, mosaics, stone carving, textiles and history.
Culture Night Belfast 2018, the biggest night in the city, enveloped the Cathedral and the streets around it on September 21 – with a host of musical and artistic activities. Check out our online photo album.
The Cathedral will be closed to visitors on Tuesday September 25 due to staff training. There will be services at 8.10am and 8.30am, but no lunchtime prayers at 1pm or Choral Evensong at 5.30pm.
We welcomed a group of 37 visitors from Arhus, Denmark, along with their tour guide Ann Lynch, for a tour of the Cathedral on Tuesday September 18.
