The Very Rev Stephen Forde
The Dean is a former Chaplain at Queen’s University (1989-95). He was incumbent in Booterstown and Mount Merrion, Dublin Diocese, (1995-99) before returning north to the Parishes of Larne and Inver with Glynn and Raloo, where he was rector until his installation as Dean on February 4 2018.
Rev Mark Niblock
The Rev Canon Mark Niblock was appointed as Dean’s Vicar at the Cathedral in 2016. Mark was curate assistant in Agherton Parish, Portstewart, from his ordination in June 2008 until his move to St Comgall’s, Rathcoole, in May 2012.
Rev Janice Elsdon
The Rev Janice Elsdon is a part-time member of the Cathedral Clergy Team. Janice has previously ministered in Cloughfern, Ahoghill and Portglenone and in South Belfast Rural Deanery, latterly in Saint Bartholomew’s – where her husband was rector.
Receptionist / Adminstrator
Chris is often the first face you will see or voice you will hear when contacting us. He is a past pupil of Grosvenor Grammar School, and has a degree in English and a Masters’ Degree in English Literature. He previously worked for the South Eastern Trust as an administrator.
Master of the Choristers
David oversees the musical life of the Cathedral, training and directing the Cathedral choirs on a for each of the seven sung services each week. David joined Belfasrt Cathedral in 2012, having held positions at Guildford and Newcastle Cathedrals. Email:firstname.lastname@example.org
Dr Ed Jones
Ed has a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours and a PhD in Musical Composition from the University of Aberdeen. He was Assistant Organist at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Aberdeen Organ Scholar at Blackburn Cathedral and later Organ Scholar at Exeter Cathedral before joining us in January 2018.
Head of Vocal Tuition
Catherine oversees the vocal tuition of the cathedral’s choristers and the musical curriculum of the children in the Cathedral’s Choir Schools. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music London. Catherine has taught in various roles including the Welsh College of Music, Cardiff, the University of Ulster and Queen’s University, Belfast. She is also a Diploma examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Visitor Services and Tourism Manager
Helen studied International Travel and Tourism Management at Glasgow Caledonian University. She worked seasonally with the National Trust, and after graduation was appointed Visitor Services Assistant with NT Fermanagh. She was later Events Manager at Larchfield Estate, before moving on to join the team at St Anne’s.
Events and Marketing Manager
Holly has a degree in journalism from the University of Ulster. She worked for four years as a business, sales and event planning co-ordinator with Titanic Belfast, before leaving to travel around Australia. Prior to joining the staff at St Anne’s Holly worked with French Village Catering and with HMC Global.
Karen writes our web news and produces the Cathedral Digest as well as liaising with the media. A ‘seasoned’ journalist, she has worked in Northern Ireland, London and Australia and is a former editor of the Ulster Gazette (Armagh). She has freelanced for daily and national media and has worked in PR with the Big Lottery Fund.
