Bishop Trevor Williams to lead Good Friday Three Hour Service in St Anne’s Cathedral
The principal service on Good Friday is Belfast Cathedral is the Three Hour meditation on the seven last words of Jesus that he spoke from the Cross. The congregation will be guided in their thoughts by the Rt Revd Trevor Williams, former Bishop of Limerick. In addition to Bishop Trevor’s reflections there will be silence, music, prayers and readings. The service being at 12.00 noon and there will be opportunities to come and go every twenty minutes. Those who would like to attend should feel free to stay for as long or as short a period as they wish, as we mark the final three hours of our Lord’s time hanging on the Cross
During the Three Hour service on Good Friday there will be a basket at the back of the Cathedral for donations for the famine relief appeal in East Africa. The Dean is releasing a further £5,000 of Black Santa funds to Christian Aid for support in South Sudan.
