The cathedral congregation is a Church of Ireland faith community growing together into the fullness of Christian life. We are committed to walk together through regular worship, Christian formation, fellowship, pastoral care and stewardship. In our practice of welcome and hospitality we seek to embrace Jesus’ Christ’s message of inclusion. In outreach beyond the walls of the Cathedral we strive to respect the image of God in all people. We invite you to explore the Christian life with us. Wherever you are on your faith journey you are welcome to join us in worship and fellowship, courses and discussion groups and our various ministries.

Greeters, Hospitality Hosts and ushers offer the welcome that we extend to the seeker, the tourist, the stranger and the worshiper.

Cathedral greeters are often the first smile a visitor will encounter as he or she walks through the doors; they pride themselves on making people feel comfortable as they seek the connection that has drawn the visitor in. Greeters work in assigned teams each Sunday morning, welcoming visitors and distributing orders of service.

Hospitality Hosts

One of the tangible ways the cathedral builds community is through the provision of refreshments after the Sunday Morning Eucharist. Hospitality hosts serve tea and coffee to the congregation at the end of the service. Hosts are assigned to serve on approximately four Sundays per year. Hosts are asked to provide biscuits when they serve.

Ushers work for Sunday services, special services, diocesan events, music festivals, concerts and other special events to greet guests and assist them with seating. Ushers also operate the sound desk during services and events.
