May, Rev Edward. 1809 - 1819
Married in 1809 Elizabeth Sinclaire, daughter of William Sinclaire of Fort William, Belfast. Sovereign of Belfast 1807-1808, 1811 & 1816. His son, George Augustus Chichester May was Lord Chief Justice of Ireland, 1877-1887.May died in Pisa, Italy. In 1850 his widow gave the land, and laid the foundation stone of St Paul’s Church, York Street.
