We are approaching the moment at which the new Cathedral website is to appear.  It is scheduled to be today and, as I write this early on Tuesday morning, I am not sure whether it will appear on the old website or be loaded onto the new one.

Installation of the Rev Canon Gill Withers

The Rev Gill Withers, rector of Greyabbey & Kircubbin, Ballyphilip & Ardquin, was installed as a Canon of St Anne’s Cathedral by the Dean of Belfast on Sunday March 5.

Gill, who was appointed a Canon by the Bishop of Down and Dromore, the Rt Rev Harold Miller, is a native of Carrickfergus and attended St Nicholas Parish Church. (more…)

Sanctus – Come savour silence in the rhythm of prayer

St Anne’s Cathedral, in conjunction with the Corrymeela Community, is offering people the opportunity to come and pray in silence on four afternoons during Lent.

Sanctus – Come savour silence in the rhythm of prayer,’ will take place in sacred space in the Chapel of Unity on Wednesdays March 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th at 4.30pm. This will be followed by Choral Evensong at 5.30pm.

Black Santa funds released for aid in South Sudan

Black Santa funds released for aid in South Sudan

The Dean of Belfast is to release £7,000 from Black Santa funds to Christian Aid to use in its work to alleviate famine in South Sudan.

The charity says that 100,000 people are at risk of starvation, and a further one million are classified as on the brink of famine. Almost five million people are in urgent need of food.
