CATHEDRAL FESTIVAL 2008 - AN APPEAL FROM THE DEAN
The biggest music maker in Northern Ireland needs your help!
An appeal from the Dean of Belfast
Once again I make this annual appeal for the maintenance, music and ministry of St Anne’s Cathedral Church. This summer we are commencing the first stage of a major overhaul of the Cathedral organ which is the largest pipe organ in Northern Ireland. It was built by Harrison and Harrison of Durham who built the organ of Westminster Cathedral. It is essential for the worship offered here. In the region of £150,000 is required to complete the first stage of the refurbishment. In June 08 we are also sanding and resealing the floors of the Cathedral . We need the help of all our friends, individually and in businesses, to ensure that we continue to present high quality worship at our services and especially at those which bring together people from all parts of our community. I will be in the Cathedral on Saturday June 7, below The Spire of Hope from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm to receive gifts for this year’s causes. Please be as generous as you can - and if you cannot come, we do love getting cheques in the post! Thank you, again.
