
CATHEDRAL FESTIVAL 08 - MINI TOURS, ORGAN RECITALS, FLORAL FOCUS
Something for everyone - Mini tours of theCathedral, short organ recitals and floral focus. There is also an activity sheet for young peope - join in the search for the Cathedral Zoo.
Come and hear the stories behind the wonderful mosaics, stained glass, Irish marble, tapestries and sculpture which combine to form the Cathedral. See three wonderful chapels and the baptistery. Walk around the ambulatory, stand below the Spire of Hope, and watch the clouds pass by.
Tours commence at 10.30, 11.30 and 12.30 and last 30 minutes. There is no charge.
ORGAN RECITALS
The pipe organ in the Cathedral is the largest in Northern Ireland. It was built by the world famous firm of Harrison and Harrison of Durham who also built the organ in Westminster Abbey. The recitals will be given by the resident team of Philip Stopford and Ian Barber.
There will be two recitals lasting 15 minutes at 11.00 am and 12 noon. There is no charge.
FLORAL FOCUS
As always the Cathedral’s team of floral arrangers who use their talents every week will have something special on offer this Festival ’08 weekend
