The disciple Thomas had at first refused to believe that Jesus had risen from the dead.

Faith was donated in 1997 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Provincial Priory of East Ulster (Masonic Order).

Thomas said, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails and place my hand in his side, I will not believe”. (John 20: 24-25). Jesus, appearing to his disciples, invited Thomas to do just that. Jesus said, ''Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe."
