The section at the apex shows the mountains and hills of the Promised Land - "a land flowing with milk and honey."

The figure of Moses is that of Moses the Lawgiver who is shown holding his Staff and the Tables of Stone on which were inscribed the Ten Commandments.

The lower section shows Mopses seated on Mount Nebo and surrounded by ministering angels, as he gazes out at the Promised Land - a land he will see but not enter.
