The Friends

of Belfast Cathedral

The Friends of Belfast Cathedral was founded in 1894 with the aim of assisting the Dean and Cathedral Board in maintaining the fabric and furnishings of the Cathedral and of promoting interest in the Cathedral and knowledge of its history.

The contribution made by the Friends is invaluable. They contributed to the Titanic Memorial Pall and the purchase of new choir robes for the girls’ choir as well as many other things.

Membership of the Friends of Belfast Cathedral is by subscription and new Friends are always very welcome. Friends receive free admission to the Cathedral. There is an annual Friends’ Service, usually in June and an Annual general Meeting in October. There are also two pilgrimages each year to places of local interest.
