Join us today on Ash Wednesday at 5.30pm for a service of Choral Eucharist with the Imposition of Ashes to mark the start of Lent.
The cathedral choirs, conducted by David Stevens are being joined by some 30 members of the choir of Wallace High School, Lisburn, under the direction of the school’s Head of Music, David Falconer. Music for the Ash Wednesday service will include Allegri’s famous Miserere Mei, which featured on this morning’s BBC Radio 4 Today programme.
The service will particularly suit those who will finish their working day in Belfast. It will be both a moving and powerful way to mark the start of Lent. The Dean will be the preacher. In addition to Choral Eucharist, there will be the opportunity for Imposition of Ashes for those who wish, during the service.
1pm - said service of Holy Communion in the Chapel of Unity with the option for Imposition of Ashes.
