All Things Bright and Virtual- Self-Isolation Choir Event!
Belfast Cathedral is delighted to be joining the Self-Isolation Choir with an initiative to encourage people everywhere to sing hymns at home.
Participants can join in whether or not they are experienced singers. The participants will be accompanied by organists (and organs) from the following places:
- Llandaff Cathedral
- Peterborough Cathedral
- Washington National Cathedral
- Belfast Cathedral
- Liverpool Cathedral
- Salisbury Cathedral
- Saints Episcopal Church, Fort Worth, Texas
- St Paul’s Cathedral, London
The project leader, Ralph Allwood, says: “So many people are missing singing and would love to join in some hymns, so I have got eight organists from seven cathedrals and a big church in Texas to play the accompaniments to eight hymns. I then will help them online to join in, and we will make a huge ensemble of everyone singing these hymns. No experience needed”.
Now is the time to sign up – rehearsals start later this week!

The proceeds will support three charities - including the Cathedral Music Trust - so if you know of others who might be interested, please do pass the word.
Happy singing!
