Girls’ Choir from Ottawa Cathedral visit Belfast
On Sunday 6th July, the Girls' Choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa, visited our cathedral to sing at our Eucharist and Evensong services. The choir were conducted by their Director of Music, James Calkin, with our own Jack Wilson accompanying them on the organ.
In Dean Forde's absence, the Revd Cameron Mack welcomed the Canadian delegation and preached from Luke 10 about how we experience unexpected blessing when we share hospitality with newcomers, and experience the Kingdom of God when strangers become siblings within the warm circle of fellowship that is the Church.
The Girls' Choir were accompanied by the Dean of Ottawa, Beth Bretzlaff, and the many choir parents and supporters who enable such a trip.
It was a joy to share in worship with brothers and sisters from another part of the Anglican Communion, and we hope they visit again in the future.
